Every Sunday, I publish a little list of things that I’m working on, learning about, or playing with. I’ve categorized my shares under Nourishment, Movement, Inspiration, Rhythm, Replenishment, and Introspection. Below with links, are some of the things that have been inspiring me this week. I hope they bring a little bit of light to you today.
Nourishment
This week I used the leftover turkey from Canadian Thanksgiving and made 3 batches of turkey stock using this method. Then, with whatever meat was left, I made a turkey pot pie with butter puff pastry. I’ve been adding the stock to soups, stews and even rice this week. It’s been the perfect way to rehydrate and add minerals to our meals now that we’re not drinking as many cold herbal tonics and teas.
Movement
Wow. This week was active without it really being a plan. Monday I weight trained and went on a family hike. Tuesday I spontaneously booked an hour horseback riding lesson. I haven’t ridden since I was a kid and catching the horse, grooming, tacking up and then riding absolutely shattered me! I think it was also a huge nervous system adjustment - riding is a very unique and different kind of workout than I’m used it. I weight trained again Wednesday and Friday, leaving this weekend to rest and restore. Instead of pilates I will trial riding lessons once a week for the rest of October and then reassess what I think is more aligned with my heart and goals.
The full Sunday Pause (and all of my live workshops) are available every week to paid subscribers and on the first Sunday of the month to all subscribers.
